With Via’s help, Diana is inspired to create and to give back

Diana grew up in Boulder and remembers walking down the hardwood floor aisles at Ideal Market, attending Boulder High School, and vacationing often in Estes Park with her family.  Memories of growing up in the Boulder community are very dear to her.  Diana worked in Denver as a physical therapy aide. However, she always aspired to be an author and an artist.

Diana also struggled for years with a number of illnesses that made it extremely challenging for her to get around by herself.  She often felt trapped and alone in her home – and this caused her illnesses to get worse.

Then she called Via.

Because of Via’s paratransit service, Diana is able to get out in the community she loves – to create, write, be inspired and to give back.  Her artwork has been showcased at several organizations in Boulder. Via also makes sure she fulfills her commitment to volunteering by getting her there, week after week.  Because of this, Diana’s health is improving as well.

Diana’s dream is to create a children’s book of poetry.  And Via will be there to help make this dream come.

“Via makes a huge difference in my life by just being there. I call Via “very important assurance.” I feel that I am assured politeness, confidentiality and respect from the moment I dial the phone and get the friendly voice of the dispatcher, to the moment I am assisted with safety, smiles and an arm to hang on to. “Being able to pursue my creative passions for writing and painting has enriched my life beyond measure.”
