Celebrate Via’s Volunteer Drivers during National Volunteer month.
Volunteer drivers make a difference!
Volunteer Bob Koecheler was recently honored as Via’s first Volunteer Driver of the Year. Bob started training in early 2016, a few months after the volunteer driver program started. He regularly drives on Tuesdays and Thursdays using Via’s Prius 106. As a newly retired computer professional, he has contributed and adapted to the past decades of the technological boom. Bob is just as adaptive with our many riders as he has been in his field of computer software.
Bob completed 401 of the 1,886 volunteer trips provided in 2016 and has become well-known to many riders. He has shared his volunteer driving experiences with others and has helped recruit other volunteers. Bob readily shares how much he enjoys the opportunity to serve Via’s riders and receives so much satisfaction in helping them get from place to place. #nationalvolunteermonth
